In addition to our normal surgeries we also run a range of dedicated clinics. Some clinics are aimed at preventing health problems, such child immunisation clinics. Others are designed to help patients cope with long-term conditions. These clincs include:

The practice offers a cervical smear screening service to patients between the ages of 25 and 64. Patients aged beetween 25 and 49 years of age will be invited for screening every 3 years, and those agred between from 50 and aged 64 will be invited to attend for a test every 5 years in line with guidance issued by the Department of Health.
The smear is normally undertaken by a Practice Nurse in a booked appointment. All eligible new patients will be offered an appointment for a smear test (if this is due) when they attend for their New Patient Health Screening. The test results are usually available after about six weeks. Please ensure you attend for this important but simple test.

These are run by one of our Practice Nurses on Thursday afternoons and Friday evenings. Fees are chargeable for some travel vaccinations. Please ask at reception for more information. We are a registered Yellow Fever Centre and offer Yellow Fever vaccinations, for which a fee is payable for this vaccination.
All the GPs and Practice Nurses provide contraception advice. Family planning clinics are run on a regular basis by appointment only. Coil insertions and implants need to be pre-booked with a GP and a Practice Nurse. If emergency contraception is required (the morning after pill), please request an appointment within 24 hours. On weekends the emergency morning after pill is available from chemists and from the Walk-In Centre at the North Middlesex Hospital.
A Health Trainer works at the surgery once a week. Referrals are made via a GP.
A Dietician works at the surgery once a week in conjunction with the Diabetic Clinic. Appointments are made via a GP referral.
Some of the GPs undertake minor surgical procedures, which can save a long wait or an unnecessary visit to the hospital. These are available on a pre-booked basis only.
Physiotherapists who are employed by Enfield Community Services provide an outreach service at the surgery. Referrals to the service are made by a GP and booked through a central booking service.
Phlebotomists employed by Chase Farm Hospital hold clinics at the surgery on Monday and Wednesday mornings. The appointments are available on a pre-booked basis, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis as they are very popular.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
